Freedom of Information
Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, any member of staff, student or member of the public can request details about recorded information from the college which is not personal, commercially sensitive or comes within the exemptions to the Act. Click here to view our policy.
All requests should be made in writing and addressed to the Chief Executive Officer and, either, sent by post to the Basildon Campus, Luckyn Lane, Basildon, Essex SS14 3AY or, alternatively it can be sent by email to FOI@procat.ac.uk.
The college aims to respond to all requests for information within 20 working days of the receipt for the request. Unless it is subject to one of the stated exemptions described by the Act. In some cases, an additional period of up to 20 additional working days may be permitted to consider the application of qualified exemptions that require a public interest test.
We monitor website traffic to assist in the continuous improvement and development of the site, but do this only by monitoring IP addresses that are not linked in any way to any personal data, retaining the anonymity of our visitors.

Notwithstanding the above, you may print or download content from this site only for individual, personal and non-commercial use, provided that you do not republish or distribute the content in any way and you keep intact all copyright notices. Use of the content for any purpose not expressly permitted by us is prohibited.
The policy of the college is that the rights of staff, students and visitors to the college, or individuals and groups who are visited by the college’s representatives, should not be jeopardised by any college activity. The college further recognises its responsibilities towards children and young people.
Images may be captured during events organised and hosted by the college using film photography, digital photography, video or other medium and may be used on the website, college prospectus or course brochures, other publicity material (such as internal and external newsletters), exhibition of student work or graduation ceremony brochure and may be provided to the media for publication in local or national newspapers or educational magazines. The college acknowledges its responsibilities in capturing images by photography or other means under the provisions of the following legislation.
The Protection of Children Act 1978: The college recognises that it is a criminal offence to take, permit to be taken, distribute, have in one’s possession or publish indecent photographs (including films and other imagery) of children.
The Human Rights Act 1998: The college recognises an individual’s rights to privacy as protected by this Act.
The Data Protection Act 1998: The college undertakes to inform all those whose images may be recorded (or their parents/guardians if under 18 years of age) of the purposes for which the images may be used by the college.
In this context the college informs all persons taking part in college activities that they may be photographed, filmed, videoed or otherwise captured in image form. Where possible and practical to do so, the college seeks written consent to image capture. Where this is not possible for practical reasons, unless express objections are received, individuals attending an event at the college are deemed to have given their consent by attending or remaining at the event. Any queries or complaints should be raised with the event host in the first instance.
When you visit the website, the college may send your computer a "cookie", a small file that resides on your computer's hard drive and allows the college to determine return users of the website and to review how a user uses a website in order to make it more useful by tailoring the services it offers to the way(s) in which a user accesses them.
