What’s in it for Ambassadors and their employers

As well as getting a buzz out of enthusing and enhancing the knowledge of young people Ambassadors also develop some useful employability skills.  One Ambassador commented, ‘you improve your own skills when you show someone else how to do a task.’ Ambassadors have significantly developed their self- confidence and their ability to talk to different audiences. Planning and delivering active sessions with students also enhances leadership skills –all key attributes that employers seek in their employees.

Networking with Ambassadors from other sector areas has enabled individuals to extend their knowledge of the engineering industry and to develop some useful employer contacts. In return employers are kept up to date with the work that their Apprentice Ambassador is undertaking which has inspired some to join in themselves and support events at schools.
